Common causes of camera and lens failure:

1. The imaging size of camera and lens does not match

The imaging size of the lens is larger than the size of the camera chip, so it can be imaged normally, but the field angle of view of the lens will be less than the nominal field angle; However, if the lens imaging size is smaller than the camera chip size, dark angles will appear around the monitoring picture.

2. The camera and lens interface do not match

The nominal focal length of the second set of lenses cannot be matched, which will not affect the actual focal length of the second set of lenses. The standard gun camera interface and lens interface shall be C interface or CS interface; C interface lens must be installed on CS interface camera with adapter ring; CS interface lens cannot be installed on C interface camera. The common gun camera interface is usually designed as CS interface, which can be connected to CS interface lens or C interface lens with adapter ring.

3. The driving mode or voltage of the camera and the lens aperture do not match

Automatic aperture lens is usually divided into DC drive and video drive, and their working voltage is not exactly the same. This mismatch will cause the lens aperture to not open normally, so naturally it will not be able to image. The technical engineer of Avenir etoku Seiko reminds everyone that when using the automatic aperture lens, the aperture converter on the camera should be turned to the side of the nominal driving mode of the lens, and the output voltage of the camera should be within the working voltage of the aperture.

4. Wiring problem, wrong connection or loose interface

There will be various connections between the surveillance camera, the lens and the display (more for the equipment with PTZ and controller). If these connections are wrongly connected or loose, the system will not work normally. Here we also remind you to carefully read the operation manual of the equipment before installation.

Main reasons for unclear monitoring image:

1. Electronic signal interference

The interior of the camera is a highly integrated system, which is vulnerable to the interference of external electronic signals. If the monitoring picture will jump or streak, the camera may be disturbed. Pay attention to stay away from the interference source of electronic signal during installation.

2. The focus is not clear

After the lens zoom is adjusted, the focus should be adjusted accordingly. It can be focused clearly within a certain depth of field (sometimes it may be very small). If it is not focused clearly, the focus may not be adjusted to the best position.

3. There is dirt on the lens

Dirt on the lens will directly lead to the fuzziness and haziness of the monitoring picture. If the lens is stained with fingerprints or dust, be sure to wipe it with special wiping paper instead of wiping it with paper towel or soft cloth dipped in alcohol (it is easy to destroy the coating on the lens surface).

4. There is a problem with the electronic shutter or white balance setting

When the camera leaves the factory, various adjustment devices are generally set at the best default position. If there is no special need, it is best to keep the default setting unchanged during installation.

5. The rear focus needs to be adjusted

The so-called back focus (non flange focus) refers to the distance from the vertex of the last lens surface of the lens to the focal plane. After the zoom adjustment, the focus is adjusted to the best position and the picture is still unclear (or focus the long focus end of the lens clearly, then push the zoom to the wide-angle end and observe whether the picture at the wide-angle end is clear). It may be the problem of back focus.

Some cameras (or lenses) are equipped with a rear focus adjustment device, and some control the out of focus within a very small range when they leave the factory. If there is no rear focus adjustment device and it is confirmed that there is a rear focus problem, they can only repair, add an adapter ring or replace the corresponding products.

6. The pixels of the camera or lens itself are not enough

The realization of high-performance camera depends on the perfect combination of body and lens. The most important thing is the consistent resolution. If a standard definition analog camera is used, even if it is equipped with a million HD lens, the displayed picture is still unclear; On the contrary, if the HD camera is equipped with an ordinary lens, the megapixel of the camera can not be reflected.

Use good lenses to reduce maintenance costs

In security applications, because the front-end equipment is easily disturbed by environmental factors such as moisture, vibration, thermal expansion and cold contraction, it is very easy to have focus shift after using for a period of time, resulting in image blur, instability, fast aging and other problems.
