Many customers who want to seek optical lens design and optical lens customization are not professionals in the optical industry. They are not very clear about the technical needs and do not know how to raise the needs.
This is a regular design demand analysis index of SECULENS for your reference.
1. First of all, tell us what your lens application is, which is helpful for us to help you analyze the design indicators;
2. The spectral range of lens application. Because the lens design should consider the characteristics of color difference and material, it is necessary to know the spectral range of the lens when it is used. In other words, you use monochromatic light, such as red light, green light, blue light and other monochromatic light, or white light all-optical spectrum, or near-infrared, short wave infrared, medium wave infrared and long wave infrared light.
3. The focal length F, field angle FOV and CCD sensor size of the lens, why are these three technical indicators mentioned together, because they have a conversion relationship:
Field of view = 2 × Arctan (CCD size / (2) × Focal length)
These concepts are easy to understand. The field of view angle is the field of view of the lens. The longer the focal length is, the larger the target is enlarged, and the smaller the field of view angle will be.
4. Aperture f / numerical aperture NA, the size of the aperture determines the amount of light into the lens, but also affects the resolution of the lens. Generally, the larger the light input, the higher the brightness of the image surface. In the low brightness environment, we should use the optical system with large aperture. Of course, the larger the aperture, the higher the difficulty of lens design, the higher the complexity of lens, and the higher the cost. We should find a balance between the use requirements and the cost.
Numerical aperture and aperture have the same function. Photographic objective lenses usually mark the aperture size, while microscope lenses usually mark the numerical aperture size.
Note: the larger the aperture value, the smaller the aperture, such as F1 4 is a large aperture lens and F16 is a small aperture lens.
5. Other design requirements: volume requirements, assembly interface requirements, electric focusing requirements...
